Bag filters consist of a mesh or felt bag held in a pressurized filter housing where the water flows from the inside to the outside of the bag. Sedimentation and particles are captured on the inside of the bag, allowing for easy removal and disposal. Filter bags are typically given a filtration rating, in units of microns, indicating the maximum size of particle that will pass through the bag. Filter vessels can handle a wide range of flow rates and pressures.
Bag filters are used in numerous applications from removing sedimentation from contaminated groundwater to filtration of cutting fluids. When selecting a bag filter, it is important to know the size of particle to be filtered, the fluid flow rate and the maximum fluid pressure.
MLE Equipment uses Krystil Klear and Filter Innovations bag filter housings. Please see the provided specification sheets and manuals for more detailed information on bag filters.
