Electric submersible pumps are fully-submersible pumps used for the extraction of contaminated groundwater from wells. The pumps will have one or more centrifugal impellers depending on the required pressure and flow rate. The impeller shaft is directly coupled to a fully-sealed motor, which is cooled by water flowing past. Unlike pneumatic submersible pumps, which have internal floats that allow them to run intermittently, electric submersible pumps run continuously unless run-dry protection is included or external level controls are used. Electric pumps can also be combined with variable-frequency drives on the surface, allowing the user to continuously vary the speed of the pump
Electric submersible pumps can be used for remediation applications, leachate extraction, and dewatering.
When selecting an electric submersible pump, the required flow rate and pressure are the most important factors.
MLE Equipment uses the Redi-Flo series of submersible pumps manufactured by Grundfos. Please see the provided specification sheets and manuals for more detailed information on electric submersible pumps.
