Enclosed flares are chimney-like installations used for the destruction of landfill gas. The flare is a carbon-steel shell with a refractory lining made of ceramic fiber. The landfill gas is fed to a burner, which is fired by propane or natural gas; ambient air is used also used to fuel the process.
Enclosing the combustion process is desirable, as the destruction efficiency is improved and there is no visible smoke or flame.
MLE Equipment uses enclosed flares manufactured by Catalytic Combustion Corporation. Please see the provided specification sheets and manuals for more detailed information on enclosed flares.
