Ozone generators take oxygen or ambient air and convert it to ozone; the ozone is then used as part of an ozone injection system for groundwater remediation. Within an ozone generator is a high-voltage electrode and a ground electrode. The supply gas is fed at a certain pressure between these two electrodes. When voltage is applied to this arrangement, the oxygen molecules in the supply gas split and combine with other oxygen molecules, forming ozone.
Ozone generators also come equipped with the necessary high-voltage power supply and required controls. When selecting an ozone generator, the required ozone production rate and the type of supply gas are the main considerations.
