Ultrafiltration – Turbidity Removal Units

Ultrafiltration-Turbidity Removal Units - Environmental EquipmentUltrafiltration units for turbidity removal function much the same as standard industrial units, whereby water is removed from wastewater by forcing it through a semi-permeable membrane.  However, due to the special requirements for turbidity removal, the membranes are configured differently.  This style of ultrafiltration unit is designed for the removal of solids, organic contaminants, and micro-organisms from waste and wastewater.  The membranes are a bundle of multi-core tubes, held within a PVC casing.  The wastewater enters the cores of the tubes, and the filtered water passes through the very small pores of the membrane, while the contaminants remain.

The ultrafiltration membranes used for turbidity removal are available in different sizes, depending on the application.  The units are highly customizable, depending on the fluid to be treated. Considerations when selecting ultrafiltration unit include fluid flow rate and the type and level of contamination.

MLE Equipment uses Filter Innovations’ line of ultrafiltration units.  Please see the provided specification sheets and manuals for more detailed information on ultrafiltration units.
