Air Treatment Equipment

Air Treatment Equipment - Environmental EquipmentMany technologies are available for the treatment of contaminated air extracted from contaminated sites and landfills. Adsorption of contaminants using activated carbon is likely the most popular process. Many different types of media are available, depending on the contaminant, as are a variety of adsorption vessels.

Oxidizers are another option for treatment of contaminated air. The air stream is heated to the point of combustion, using electricity or gas, which converts the volatile organic compounds (VOCs) to carbon dioxide and water. Oxidizers can be used on sites with petroleum contamination, as well as chlorinated- and fluorinated-solvent contamination.

For the destruction of gas extracted from solid-waste landfill sites, enclosed flares can be used. These flares operate with no visible flame.
