Groundwater Treatment Equipment

Groundwater Treatment Equipment - Environmental EquipmentContaminated groundwater can be treated in a variety of ways, depending on the type of contamination present. For typical remediation sites with petroleum or chlorinated-solvent contamination, treatment equipment can include: a coalescer (oil/water separator) for separation of liquids, bag or cartridge filters for the removal of sedimentation, an air stripper to transfer volatile organic compounds in the groundwater stream to an air stream, and activated carbon for final treatment, or “polishing” of the groundwater through adsorption of contaminants.

For more complex applications, processes such as pH treatment, ultrafiltration, membrane biological reactors, and chemical treatment are available.

The specific technologies chosen are dependent on the level and type of contamination, the required discharge quality, and the flow rate of groundwater
