BROCKVILLE, ON - (April 2004) Maple Leaf Environmental Equipment (MLEE) and QED were presented with a regional Ontario Global Traders award for Partnership on April 1, 2004 in Belleville. These awards recognize the outstanding export achievements of the most innovative and successful small and medium-sized enterprises, business leaders and students in Ontario.

MLEE President Bruce Lounsbury said the partnership has helped boost Maple Leaf sales in the U.S. by 300 per cent in the past three years. Similarly, QED's sales in Canada have increased four-fold. "It's been an extremely successful partnership. Both of us have very good reputations and we've been able to build on each other's strengths."

Winners of the regional awards compete for a provincial award to be presented at the provincial awards ceremony. This year's ceremony will be held on May 11, 2004 in Toronto.

The Ontario Global Traders Awards are presented by Ontario Exports Inc.
